Credit Unions are member-owned.
Credit unions are owned by members like
You–unlike banks, which are usually owned by stockholders. This means YOU have a voice in the organization.

Credit unions are not-for-profit
Unlike banks, where the profits are usually returned to the share-holding stockholders, credit union surplus earnings are returned to member-owners in the form of superior rates, low/no fees and superior quality products and services.
