Learn More About Grassroot Efforts and Cast Your Vote Today!
To mark its 64th year of service to the UN community globally, UNFCU is celebrating the work of organizations that through their grassroots efforts and exemplary service are answering United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s call to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, UN MDGs -- eight specific objectives that the United Nations, Non Governmental Organizations, (NGOs), public and private sector companies and academia among others, are dedicated to realize by 2015 to:
To spotlight the UN MDG’s, UNFCU is asking each of you – our members – to select one of the eight NGOs that in your opinion is contributing most to important development benchmarks. The NGO with the greatest number of votes will receive 5,000 USD. In fact, every organization will be a winner, as UNFCU will contribute 1,000 USD to each of the nominees. UNFCU, a member of the UN Global Compact, had selected the NGOs based on their accomplishments and through the UN Department of Public Information and Department of Social and Economic Affairs Indexes. There are literally thousands of organizations working to further the UN MDGs each and every day. UNFCU salutes everyone’s effort!
