Programme Description

UNFCU is committed to providing opportunities for education. In 2003, UNFCU established a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to applicants from UNFCU’s Start Smart Membership Programme. In support of UNFCU’s mission of serving the people who serve the world by enriching the lives of its members, UNFCU Start Smart members around the globe have benefited from our scholarships.

Funds are raised by the generous donations of UNFCU members who contribute year round. We award two scholarship funds every year. There is one grand prize winner and one runner-up. The scholarship funds are held at UNFCU as a share certificate until the winners are ready to attend college/university and have provided proof of attendance. *

Eligibility Requirements

All Start Smart members between the ages of 10 and 17 are eligible to apply for the Scholarship Fund. Applicants must carefully read the eligibility and application requirements and send in their submissions fully completed before the deadline date.

Help us help them

By making a donation to the UNFCU Start Smart Scholarship Fund you help expand and improve educational options to a deserving and motivated Start Smart member.

Give the Gift of Education!

* All funds will be transferred directly to the school of attendance. In order for us to do so, we must receive a letter of acceptance from the university/college, proof of attendance (school ID), the dates of attendance (registration information), and the information necessary for us to make the payment (bursar office contact information).
