An even more secure way to pay.
Members with a
UNFCU VISA® credit card and/or a
UNFCU VISA debit card as well as a compatible Apple® mobile device can now use Apple Pay™ for secure payments. Like the
chip and PIN technology we use with all UNFCU VISA cards, Apple Pay also uses a chip to store personal information on your device. Data on a chip is more difficult to steal or replicate than data on a magnetic stripe, reducing the likelihood of fraudulent transactions on your card.
What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a digital wallet that allows members using a compatible Apple mobile device to make payments at participating in-store merchants and apps. With Apple Pay, the information for each of your credit and debit cards is stored in an embedded chip within the digital wallet. A unique and encrypted account number is then used in place of each card number when making transactions. This way, your card information is never shared with merchants.
How do I get Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a feature in the Passbook application on all iPhones with at least an iOS 8.1 operating system, including the iPhone® 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Follow VISA’s
easy instructions to get started.
