Relevant experience and qualifications
JOYA Munehiko is an asset to UNFCU. He brings 40 years of finance management experience, 15 years of experience in governance of IFAD/FAO Credit Unions, UN Joint Staff Pension Fund and related committees, and 13 years of CFO/Corporate Social Responsibility experience in public/private sector. Certified in “Sustainability & Climate Risk” by Global Association of Risk Professionals, he is resourceful to advance UNFCU’s social/environmental commitments. Currently he chairs Board of AGIS, a non-profit to lead/supervise the management of Rome-based Japanese educational institutions. He believes he can bring new resource/perspectives to UNFCU Board/members to further advance its mission together.
Candidate statement
JOYA Munehiko, a longtime UNFCU member, has a great interest in an opportunity to serve and give back to UNFCU membership community if elected to join its Board as a new member. After a decades-long career journey in UN system, he has more confidence and passion to continue his journey to serve the global community through UNFCU mission of ‘serving the people who serve the world’. He believes his professional background contributes to UNFCU mission more effectively if shared collectively as a member of UNFCU Board than remaining a loyal individual UNFCU member. 2024 Board of Directors Election is timely to express and act on his passion for serving UNFCU membership as a new Board member.
