Relevant experience and qualifications

As the retired Director of the General Legal Division, UN Office of Legal Affairs, I have 30 plus years' experience dealing with the legal framework of the UN itself and have advised senior UN management on the legal relationship between the UN and UNFCU. I am well versed in the law of depository institutions governing UNFCU, and I served for more than 17 years on the Board of the UNJSPF, and for four years on its Audit Committee. As a lawyer, former UN lawyer, and UNJSPF Board Member, I am well versed in the fiduciary obligations of directors and officers of corporations, and as a former UN Lawyer I have extensive experience in the legal aspects of audits and investigations.

Candidate statement

As the retired Director of the General Legal Division, UN Office of Legal Affairs, and as a longstanding member of the UNFCU, I am familiar with the history and legal aspects of the relationship between the UN and the UNFCU. Now that I am retired from the service of the UN, I have no conflicts in serving the interests of the UNFCU. I wish to share my experience and expertise for the UNFCU and the UN community it serves. My knowledge and experience in board matters, the law of depository institutions, and the legal aspects of audits and investigations will serve UNFCU's members well. My experience handling administrative law and procurement matters for the UN can also benefit the UNFCU.
