Marietta Muwanga-Ssevume (Incumbent)
Relevant experience and qualifications
With over 25 years of experience leading complex global operations in the UN and at the World Bank Group, I am seeking election to the UNFCU Board of Directors to contribute my experience in fiduciary governance, risk oversight, and ethical stewardship in service of the UN community.
As CIO at IOM, I oversee digital transformation and adoption, managing enterprise risk, and governance across operations in more than 400 locations worldwide. I bring a global perspective, experience in multicultural leadership, and a strong commitment to ethics, inclusion, and member-focused service. I want to apply these skills to support UNFCU’s mission and long-term value for its members.
Candidate statement
I am interested in serving the UNFCU membership because its mission of trusted financial stewardship directly reflects my career-long commitment to service, integrity, and accountability within the UN system. Having worked for over 25 years in senior roles supporting UN staff and operations globally, I understand the financial realities and risks faced by members, often in complex and high-risk environments. My experience in fiduciary oversight, risk management, cybersecurity, AI, and governance enables me to contribute independent, member-focused oversight to help ensure UNFCU’s financial soundness, resilience, and long-term value for its global membership.
