Top faster funds transfer FAQs

Similar to wire transfers, faster funds transfers are a reliable and secure way to send money globally in certain currencies. One key difference is speed. Most faster funds transfers are delivered to the recipient’s financial institution within hours, and typically no later than one business day. Wire transfers are typically delivered within 1–3 business days. Learn more about the differences. 

Before confirming your faster funds transfer, you will see a clear summary showing: 

  • The total amount to be debited from your account 
  • UNFCU fees and other fees charged by the payment network 
  • The exchange rate, which is equal to the current mid-market rate 
  • The transfer amount your recipient will receive 

All network costs are presented upfront, so you can make an informed choice. Your recipient’s institution may impose its own fees. We are not always able to display such fees in advance. 

Yes, you can send money to business bank accounts in eligible countries that support faster payment networks. Unfortunately, we are unable to support any payments related to Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.  

To meet payment network compliance requirements, faster funds transfers are not available to members located in:
