We were founded by and for the United Nations community. Making a positive impact is more than our responsibility, it is embedded in who we are. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are committed to protecting our planet, developing an inclusive workforce, and overcoming poverty.

Through our operations and initiatives, we are dedicated to meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals’ 2030 deadline.
Our initiatives contribute to the prosperity of people and the planet
Protecting our planet
We are cultivating a healthier world by offering sustainable products, adopting sustainable practices across our operations, and divesting from pollutants. In 2018, we launched the United in Sustainability Network to lead a sustainability movement across credit unions.
Developing an inclusive workforce
We offer leadership development programs for women, people who identify as LGBTQ+, and people of color. We also offer inclusive health benefits, and initiatives that encourage our staff to be their authentic selves.
Overcoming poverty
UNFCU Foundation is empowering women and youth to overcome poverty. Through its grant-making and humanitarian campaigns, the Foundation invested $1 million in 2022 alone, transforming more than 13,000 lives.

Embracing a culture of service
We offer eight hours of paid time annually for each employee to give back to local charitable organizations. Our employees have contributed over 6,000 volunteer hours to initiatives within UNFCU and their communities.
Impact Reports
Our commitment to sustainability and transparency is consistent, even as our journey to increase our impact evolves. We publish an annual Impact Report detailing progress on our goals and the advancement of the SDGs.

2022
In addition to climate neutrality, we updated our investment policies to prohibit investments in tobacco, firearms, and fossil fuels.

2021
We celebrated the sixth consecutive year of climate neutrality and introduced new business resource groups.

2020
We completed our 5-year inaugural Sustainability Action Plan, in which we achieved 7 out of 8 targets we set in 2015.
