  2. Under Account Services, select Online Forms.

  3. Select the Debit Card Application online form.

  4. Complete and sign the online form.

Debit or credit?

Debit cards and credit cards each offer their own benefits. When you pay with a debit card, you spend cash from your checking or savings account. When you pay with a credit card, you borrow money.

If you have both a savings and checking account, your debit card purchases will be linked to your checking account. 

Some ATMs will give you the option to choose whether to take the money from your checking or savings account. If the ATM does not allow you to choose, the money will be withdrawn from your checking account.

You can use your UNFCU debit card around the world. View our fees and service charges for withdrawals at ATMs that are not part of the Co-op and AllPoint Networks. If you use your debit card for purchases outside the US, Visa will charge foreign transaction fees. ATM and foreign transaction fees are eligible for Member Loyalty Rebates.  

If you plan to use your debit card when you travel, we encourage you to set a travel notice at least 48 hours before your trip. Doing so tells us that you are using your card away from home, and we will not lock it. If you purchased your airline ticket with a UNFCU card, we have all your details. You do not need to add a travel notice.

Yes, we have daily limits to protect you in case your card is lost or stolen. Your debit card can be used five times a day for ATM withdrawals, and 20 times a day for purchases.

  1. If you plan to make more than six debit card purchases in a month, you should link your debit card to your checking account to avoid excessive transaction fees. We invite you to read our quick guide that explains the differences between checking and savings accounts. 
  2. Some ATMs do not ask from which account to debit cash. When you have both UNFCU savings and checking accounts, such ATM withdrawals are automatically deducted from your checking account.

  4. Register eligible products purchased with your UNFCU debit card to extend the warranty. Call the Visa US toll-free number at 1 800‑551‑8472. Call collect from outside the US at +1 303‑967‑1096.
  5. Are you dissatisfied with a product purchased with your UNFCU debit card, but cannot return it to the retailer? You may receive a refund of up to $250 within 90 days of purchase. This service has a maximum refund amount of $1,000 annually. For more information, please call the Visa US toll-free number at 1 888-565-8472. Call collect from outside the US at +1 303‑967‑1096.
  6. Did you find a lower price on a product purchased with your UNFCU debit card? If the purchase was within the last 60 days, you can receive a refund for the price difference.
